Maybe we can institute Peanut Butter Jelly Time, too.

Muslim scientists and clerics have called for the adoption of Mecca time to replace GMT, arguing that the Saudi city is the true centre of the Earth.
Call me kooky, but I kinda figured the center of the Earth would be, you know, in the center. The last time I checked the map, Mecca was on it, and not in the core.
One geologist argued that unlike other longitudes, Mecca’s was in perfect alignment to magnetic north.
That’s another curious claim. Perhaps the geologist is unaware that magnetic north is not fixed and varies by local geomagnetic field. Maybe he intended to say it was perfectly aligned with the north magnetic pole, but that’s not fixed either… and it’s in Canada. (North Magnetic Pole)
A prominent cleric, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawy, said modern science had at last provided evidence that Mecca was the true centre of the Earth; proof, he said, of the greatness of the Muslim “qibla” – the Arabic word for the direction Muslims turn to when they pray.
Yee-ah.
The meeting in Qatar is part of a popular trend in some Muslim societies of seeking to find Koranic precedents for modern science.
It is called “Ijaz al-Koran”, which roughly translates as the “miraculous nature of the holy text”.
The underlying belief is that scientific truths were also revealed in the Muslim holy book, and it is the work of scholars to unearth and publicise the textual evidence. [emphasis mine -ed.]
But the movement is not without its critics, who say that the notion that modern science was revealed in the Koran confuses spiritual truth, which is constant, and empirical truth, which depends on the state of science at any given point in time.
I can’t wait to find out what other scientific gems are hiding in the Quran, just waiting to be discovered. Maybe we’ll find that the earth is flat afterall.

Muslims call for GMT to be replaced with “Mecca Time” as they have proven that Mecca is the center of the Earth. Fools, do they not know that the Earth is a four-corner simultaneous timecube, and thus has no center?
Sorry… Evil 1 Day Adult, here.
For more info on the timecube, see this wacky site. So you can “Know Cube, or Hell.”
You’re all wrong.
The Earth (big “E” meaning the planet) is perfectly circular because it is made up, primarily, of earth (little “e” the substance). All that is earth ], as defined by Aristotle, tends to move toward the center of the universe, i.e., the center of the Earth. That said, given enough time all earth will be attracted equally to the center of the earth and will eventually move to fill in spaces in which the individual instances of earth will find themselves closer to the center of the Earth, ergo, the Earth is perfectly circular when the earth has settled.
Anyway, Mecca is not the center, nor is Greenwich the center. There is no one center, there are infinite centers (since we are talking about points on the perimeter of the circumference of the Earth, not the true center of the sphere).
Yup. Perfectly spherical.

Well… that picture settles it.
The Progressives will accept Mecca time. It’s cool and hip!
Yeah… it even comes with a watch that runs backwards.
