    Since Obama hasn’t been in jail, this might poke a hole in the portrayal of Bambi the Messiah. And yeah, I think it means all white folks are racist and we’ll just elect Obama so we can feel good about ourselves and we won’t be obligated to give black people anything else.

But just because dissidents have been persecuted doesn’t mean that if you haven’t been persecuted you aren’t a dissident. Also there are plenty of forms of hardship other than jail. You can’t say that Obama hasn’t been through hardship. Being raised by a single mom can’t be easy.

You might say his family dynamics were a hardship, but I don’t think the raised by a single mother statement is very accurate.

    This is one of the crazier things this guy has said but he does have a lot of good points on his church most have to do with getting urban blacks educated and not rely on government handouts.
    they deal with a lot of things like job training, tutoring, schooling and other things. He is outspoken against racism however to blacks and towards white but does have a tendency to say shocking things like this to get people to listen. I am sure from reading the materials from the churches website that the jail thing is a metaphor like saying he is an “uncle tom” (forgive that) to the white liberal establishment. I do think the guy goes a little overboard at times though.
